Project Examples

Groups of MBA students will act as consultants to your organization to help you build your community relations in Boston. The students will examine the social context of your industry within the Boston area and develop a strategy based on best practices and research.

Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Improving your company's visibility, competitiveness, social standing, etc.
  • How to play a more useful role in the Boston area, particularly in leading industries like high tech and finance
  • Bringing your business into the Boston area
  • Identification and management of local stakeholders for a construction project (new or refurbishment)—residential building; office building; factory; transport infrastructure (bridges, roads); utilities (power plant, transmission line, pipeline, water main, sewage line or treatment plant)
  • Key innovation networks and means of access to these networks for a company from outside the area in a technologically dynamic industry—IT, health care, biotech
  • Investment and mentoring networks for a startup company
  • Customer and regulatory relations for a foreign company offering products to Boston-based small and medium entrepreneurial companies—e.g. for a European supplier of analytical software for the biotech industry, or for a Taiwanese supplier of advanced materials for the cleantech sector
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Attend class in mid-September to discuss the project with students (in person or virtually).

Be available for periodic emails from students.

Attend the final presentation in November (in person or virtually).
