In this project, EMBA student-consultants will work in teams, applying their business acumen and creativity to identify and analyze appropriate internationalization strategies for your product or service. They will use knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of the global business environment and the complexity of operating in an international setting obtained during this course. International target markets and an associated internationalization approach will be recommended after an analysis of the industry landscape, socioeconomic trends, cultural, regulatory, and financial analysis.
This course is an intensive two-week offering with two all-day classroom sessions and interim time devoted to self-directed small-group work on the client project. Project introductions will take place on Saturday November 21st and final recommendations will be presented to the client on Saturday December 5th.
Learners
The final project deliverables will include a comprehensive written report (10 - 20 pages) that includes the following key components (as appropriate to the context) and a business presentation:
- Country assessment for the product(s) or service(s) in question
- External and internal environmental scanning
- Marketing and/or operational strategy
- High-level financial analysis
- Schedules and timelines for implementation

Requirements
Project activities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying and justifying which international market(s) to enter
- Outlining how to enter an international market (including identification of key risks, estimated costs, and launch strategies)
- Providing tactical or operational recommendations for a defined market entry/expansion strategy (i.e. hiring/management strategies, cultural norms, and laws/regulations)
- Identifying potential international partners for international expansion, and providing a brief strategic overview.
