Learner goals and capabilities

Master's student(s), trained in innovation, business, and project management, will work with you to solve a major problem/opportunity from within your organization. This 10-month engagement starts with students doing massive research on what you want to be solved and then present you with options. Once you have decided which option to choose, the student(s) will create a plan (if it's a marketing opportunity, it's a marketing plan). Once you are okay with the plan, the student will implement what you want.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Finding and recruiting top talent that fits best with your organization will give you a distinct competitive advantage. Students are highly motivated and thirsty for opportunities to prove themselves in your industry. You'll gain an unparalleled opportunity to evaluate future talent -- learning what they can bring to the table and what skills they need before you hire them to reduce onboarding costs and time.

Project Examples

There are 3 stages to this project:

1. Students will submit alternatives to solve the problem

2. Students will submit a plan to attack the problem

3. Students will work to implement the plan.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Attend (in person or virtually if needed) a class to introduce your company and proposed project area/problem.

Be responsive to periodic emails to answer any questions or concerns that the student(s) may have as they progress

Choose an alternative (yours or the students) so that the student can move to the next phase and complete a plan

Be open to the idea of hiring (co-op or unpaid internship, funding potentially available) the student to implement the plan (or another alternative of YOUR choosing) during the summer 2017
