Is your organization looking for IT training or training documents/media? In this project, students in the Computer Network Technician program will apply their skills to plan and prepare technical documentation using clear, simple and non-technical language for those looking for training in computer, internet and other information technology topics. They will use the Microsoft Office suite to augment project documentation.
We will also be available to provide technical support/help desk support as the students are well versed in hardware, software, cloud computing, wireless, and fiber optics.
Students will share a completed document (covering the wants and needs of your project), and you can provide guidance on the components most critical to your project. These plans typically include some or all of the following:
- How to documentation
- Training media (reports, videos, blog posts)
- Proposed network setup via Packet Tracer
- Product test and review
- Intro level network administration

Project Examples
Beginning in January, students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.
The students will have a strong background in:
- Foundation computer technology
- Network fundamentals Operating systems
- Microsoft and Linux network systems
They will also be studying to write industry standard certification exams from the following organizations:
Cisco: Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
CompTIA: A+, Network+, Linux+
Microsoft: Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA – Microsoft Server OS); Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
Linux Professional Institute: Linux Essentials
Electronics Technician Association: Customer Service Specialist (CSS)
Fiber Optic Association :Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.
