Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to understand your situation, devise the project scope, and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution and Check Ins: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will formally communicate with organization representative(s) during two sessions, where the students will solicit feedback on their progress.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Report and Presentation: Students will submit a detailed report on the outcomes of the project. Teams will also present this in the last class. Organization representative(s) are invited to attend these presentations.

Project Examples

Requirements

Starting this January, an entire class of 25 students will work in groups of 5, spending 1,250 hours working to provide value to your organization.

Students will conduct an analysis and develop a comprehensive understanding of your current state, opportunities, and recommendations. Based on your objectives, students will complete primary and secondary research over a 2-month period to provide high-value, applicable recommendations.

Example project tasks include, but are not limited to:

  1. Strategic analysis of existing processes.
  2. Viability study for a new initiative.
  3. Strategic action plan development.
  4. New market analysis.
  5. Best practice audit.
