Is your organization facing a challenge or opportunity in tax? In this project, 4th year accounting students will tackle a tax problem of your choosing, and conduct in depth research to develop actionable recommendations. These highly motivated students are on the CPA track and are interested in careers in tax and accounting; this project is a great opportunity to engage their expertise and connect with potential hires.

The top 5 student teams (as determined by the instructor) will present:

- 5-10 page report highlighting key insights from research and recommendations (1 per group)

- 5-10 minute executive presentation that you can attend in person or virtually

Project Examples

Student teams will engage in working on a tax related problem/opportunity of your choosing. Your financial data is not required for this project; students can perform secondary research to develop their recommendations. Students can address any area of tax, including but not limited to shareholder manager remuneration, tax planning for small businesses utilizing SBDs, any corporate or personal tax issues, or a combination/overlap of both.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Be available to answer emails or phone calls from time to time over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available to review final submissions for top 5 teams, and attend their final presentations, either in person or virtually.
