social media chronic diseases social media strategy social media content editingThe main goal for the project is to develop and implement a social media strategy to continue to build an audience and email list for Benessere North, a nonprofit that helps women with chronic health conditions to optimize their health and often reverse chronic diseases through transitioning their nutrition.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Developing a content calendar and strategy for social media platforms - especially building a YouTube presence.
- Creating engaging and informative content related to plant-based nutrition and chronic health conditions.
- Editing videos I create - some on my own and others stemming from scripts the students develop - to post as reels on IT and FB, and shorts on YouTube etc.
- Analyzing the effectiveness of the social media strategy and making adjustments as needed.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
- Creating posts and reels for social media platforms.
- Editing reels that Dr. Polak creates.
- Engaging and informative content for social media posts, including edited reels with (if possible) captions/descriptions written and ready to post, and perhaps uploaded to the content calendar in VistaSocial (if possible).
Final deliverables:
- A set of social media content for YouTube and Instagram.
I will meet weekly with the learners, or more frequently as suggested by the educator/ students to best collaborate. I can be available for calls between meetings if needed. I will create Q&A videos for the learners to edit. These would be used either in social media or else in a membership for women to help them eat plant-based to improve their health. I will provide access to platforms that I have if these are useful.

Good health and well-beingAbout the company
This is a start-up not-for-profit that helps women struggling with high blood pressure/ cholesterol, weight issues, diabetes, and many other chronic health concerns to prevent, suspend and whenever possible (which is often) reverse their chronic diseases, primarily by using the healing power of plant-based nutrition. We also incorporate the other healthy lifestyle pillars or habits.
Vivian Polak, MD, provides the coaching to the clients by way of courses and a women's community for on-going expert guidance and support. It has been enormously helpful to have a few people volunteer from time to time to help get the message and assistance out to the public - with video editing, marketing, website design, other IT support, etc.
Incidentally, my first undergraduate degree was in Business Administration (Western Univ, London ON), but after a few years of working in business I went to medical school, so I need lots of help with many facets of the nonprofit.
