Our goal for this project is to help our nonprofit find funding opportunities to help us carry out our organisation's activities:

Students will need to:

  • Familiarize themselves with our vision statement and the defined project.
  • Develop a needs statement that characterizes the community problem and justifies the need for our project and funding.
  • Identify potential sponsors and funding opportunities that are a good fit for our organization and project.
  • Improve the clarity and persuasiveness of our company's grant proposal writing.
  • Develop grant proposals and applications tailored to each grant's specific requirements.
  • Submit completed grant applications.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, learners should demonstrate the following (negotiable with Educator, depending on scope of the Experience being provided, as well as student timelines available):

  • Understanding of our organization’s values and purpose
  • Identification of potential sponsors and funding sources
  • Completion of one or more grant proposals for the sources found

Final deliverables should include:

  • Research report detailing the research process, grant application strategies, and outcomes.
  • A comprehensive list of potential grant opportunities tailored to Canadian Alliance of Maternal Mental Health’s mission and objectives.
  • Two to three well-researched and professionally written grant proposals ready for submission (it may require more than one student group to do the background research, then apply).
  • A detailed fundraising strategy document outlining diverse fundraising methods, donor engagement tactics, and a timeline for implementation.
  • A presentation summarizing the grant proposals and fundraising strategy to be delivered to Canadian Alliance of Maternal Mental Health Board.
