The purpose of this program is to allow users test the possibilities of cutting different profiles by adjusting the horizontal and vertical settings of the cutter in relation to the stock being cut virtually.

There will be a piece of material to be cut. There will be a router bit {cutter}. The cutter lines up in relation to the material horizontally and vertically. The user adjusts the vertical and horizontal location of the cutter. The different locations of the cutter [horizontal and vertical] create different profiles. Displaying the result in 2D is acceptable.

There may be more than one [simple] cutter for demonstrating the concept with multiple profiles.

There maybe some type of management type functions - like a file with the cutter profiles, saving different materials.

Our primary platform will be the desktop - Windows and Mac if possible. A web based solution would be interesting but only in addition.

SketchList 3D is used by woodworkers to design custom cabinetry and furniture. Several years ago a leading woodworking magazine published an article on CAD in woodworking. They stated that "Cabinet makers must provide high-quality 3D images to prospects or lose business." SketchList was designed to place high-quality 3D design software in the of woodworkers who must provide high-quality 3D drawings but cannot master CAD software.

SketchList 3D users create designs by sizing and locating virtual 3D boards in 3D space. The learning curve for SketchList 3D is much shorter than that of CAD products.

There are two levels of SketchList 3D. One is used by DIY woodworkers, the other by businesses.

It runs on both Windows and Mac computers.

The company was founded in 2008.
