Details

Our organization is committed to serving the mindfulness community as well as growing awareness. However, we are a new nonprofit, and we're aiming to raise funds, becoming more established in order to be fully operational.

We would like to collaborate with students to develop a fundraising plan to meet our goals.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Familiarizing themselves with our mission, values and goals.
  • Researching fundraising strategies of other nonprofits, when they were at a similar stage of development.
  • Create a summary of their research findings and provide examples.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Assisting in implementing new fundraising activities.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of our mission, values and goals
  • Understanding of fundraising strategies used by similar organizations
  • Presenting a fundraising plan proposal.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Implementing fundraising activities, with approval from the Board of Directors

Final deliverables should include

  • A final report with the proposed fundraising plan.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our mission, values and goals
  • Communication with staff
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
Supported causes
Good health and well-being

The Mindfulness Council of Canada (MCC) is a nonprofit which was established in 2023 to address the increasing demand for information about where to find skillfully taught mindfulness programs, whether for personal or professional development or for those interested in facilitating mindfulness programs. We are committed to actively promoting networking and advocacy within the Mindfulness community and creating a nationwide network of resources for individuals and organizations interested in accessing skillfully delivered mindfulness training and ongoing support for personal, professional, and corporate development.

MCC seeks to facilitate connection and collaboration and be a guide towards research opportunities and innovations.

MCC is also committed to advocating for more accessible programs, professional training, and facilitation standards. It aims to encourage the fostering of mindfulness communities and mentorship while offering valuable resource materials for individuals interested in learning about or teaching mindfulness.
