Details

Podcasting is a rapidly growing content medium with a highly localized consumership. The Starfish Canada is exploring opportunities in the podcast sector and looking for students with business research background to help us navigate the feasibility of launching a podcast. Successful applicants will be working with our team on planning and potentially implementing their research for eight weeks, producing and presenting a feasibility report to our staff.

Positions available: Up to 3 (individual or team)

Timeline: 2-3 months (between June-August)

Students will accomplish the following:

  • Conduct business research on the podcast program, including target audience, budget, branding and advertising opportunities.
  • Conduct informational interviews with The Starfish Canada community to understand what would entice them to listen to our podcast
  • Propose a structure and format of the podcast, including the length, style, scripts and setup
  • Identify potential partnerships for the podcast (both who would speak and who might be interested in advertising with us considering we are a new podcast)
  • Provide guidance on any other potential implications required for podcasting, including legal considerations and distribution methods.

If you like the sound of our culture and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.

A student or team with business research or program development skills would be the ideal candidate(s) for this project.
