Our organization (Greenii Inc.) needs some help on developing a custom paper folder using pneumatic control designs or linear actuators! We are a social enterprise focusing on People, Planet, and profit. Our products are very unique and novel in North America, aiming to reduce the cutting of trees and reuse the papers effectively. We currently employ independent contractors (newcomers/refugee women) to make paper bags. It's a tedious process of collecting the recycled papers such as newsprints and flyers and manually fold it. Since some of the small papers need to glue to make them into large sheets, some of the papers are folded already. However, we need a machine to fold at the right edges, crease, and fold into paper bag form. This project may combine research, 3d modeling, product development, fabrication, simulations, Pneumatic control systems, or electric actuators.

You will have access to a member of our management team for direction, clarification, and customer and industry insights. Further research on our industry, target customer and desired online store features should be conducted.

We want to have a design prototype that will help us to develop the machine for production implementation.

The final deliverables include:

1. A tested prototype of our machine design.
2. A 10-minute presentation on the research and design process and insights.
3. A report on the prototypical store design, with supporting research insights and testing results.

This is a great project for students to prove their sales expertise to future employers, as the impact of their work on this project can be easily measured and communicated.

Mentorship and supervision will be done by Purushothaman Cannane (Founder and CEO). Knowledge sharing, brainstorming will also happens, it will be very helpful for students to learn new things. Each student will be monitored for their progress, issues (if any) , finaly submission.
