digital publishing marketing whole genome sequencing communication journalism medical prescriptionPeople are......health. They put much less faith in their doctors today than in any time in prior history, and are demanding options for treatment that go beyond simply a prescription for one more daily pill.
There's a sense that there is more out there worthy of consideration, both within provincial medical systems, but also outside of it. A world of options exist - ranging from the dutifully tested to the anecdotal to the downright irresponsible, and with the added dimensions of DNA testing, genome sequencing, personal data collection and more, the Health Consumer is becoming more informed, enlightened and exposed to a myriad of choices - some of are here and others still yet to come.
Our digital publication, The Health Insider (https://thehealthinsider.ca/ - a fully-owned subsidiary of RSRS) looks for the insider's perspective to find the answers to the important questions Health Consumers are asking.
We are looking for journalism and/or communications students who are looking to build their portfolio in the consumer healthcare space. Interns will be asked to write and produce editorial content for our digital publication and potentially our social media channels. We are also looking for students who have experience with and a passion for developing and producing video content.
This is an exciting opportunity for journalism, creative media and marketing students interested in the healthcare space.
This is a fully remote position and we are looking for students across Canada.
The student will be closely supported, and will have daily access to the Digital Director in order to create the most relevant and compelling content that works within The Health Insider mission.
We will also ensure the student receives the training they require to complete the job. This will include, but not be limited to, weekly editorial meetings, How to Write for The Health Insider training via video and an Intern handbook, keyword research tools, SEO and more. If the student works on a social media project, they can learn video scripting, editing, production and measurement.
