The goal is to gather insights from various fields such as education, sports, and neurolearning to enhance literacy programs and improve the acquisition and application of knowledge. This research will specifically contribute to the development of the Sankofa Bridge program by providing evidence-based strategies that can be implemented to support diverse learners. The project will involve a comprehensive review of existing literature, case studies, and best practices from related industries. By focusing on the intersection of sports and education, the project seeks to bridge gaps in learning methodologies and foster inclusive educational environments.
The deliverables for this project include a detailed research report summarizing findings on effective learning strategies for diverse learners in sports. Additionally, a set of actionable recommendations will be provided to inform the Sankofa Bridge program. The project will also produce a presentation summarizing key insights and strategies for stakeholders.
Tasks:
Research Learning & Communication Strategies:
- Explore strategies tailored to diverse and non-traditional learners to enhance knowledge retention and engagement with a strong focus on sports.
Sports Learning Strategies:
- Investigate learning and communication techniques used in sports for both youth and professional athletes to understand their effectiveness in high-performance and team-based settings.
Neurolearning Research:
- Analyze neurolearning studies to identify innovative methods for improving learning acquisition, retention, and practical application.
Online Learning Strategies:
- Research best practices for online learning to enhance accessibility, interactivity, and engagement for diverse learners.
Case Studies Development:
- Create case studies demonstrating the implementation of effective communication and learning strategies, with a focus on literacy programs.
Report Sharing:
- Compile research findings and case studies into clear, actionable reports and share insights with the team for program improvement and decision-making.
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.

About the company
The Racialized Students is a registered non-profit organization. We launched in 2020 during the onset of the pandemic. We were founded to be a resource for Black and racialized students to partake in meaningful research training and networking opportunities that help them advance throughout their academic journey and career journey.
We achieve this through the provision of mentorship, research, and employment training opportunities.
Our mission is to increase the representation of Black people across interdisciplinary Health sectors and increase the rate of employment among Black youth through career advancement training.
We envision a safer and inclusive Toronto where all Torontonians particularly Black and racialized communities can access services and employment free from racism and discrimination.
