This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Analyzing the existing website and digital assets of Four Star Mushrooms.
- Identifying areas for improvement in the design, UI/UX, and ecommerce aspects of the website.
- Researching best practices for website design, UI/UX, and ecommerce for both consumer and B2B products.
- Aligning digital assets to support physical strategies (i.e. events, partnerships, etc.)
- Coordinate digital assets to work together
- Ensure digital assets convey desired brand image
- Drive audience to intended action (i.e. consumers purchase at retailers, Door Dash order or patronage at client restaurants)
- Developing a plan for implementing the recommended changes.
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of the existing website and digital assets of Four Star Mushrooms.
-Understand the brand, value proposition, goals and objectives for both the consumer and B2B target market.
-Understand the current geographic market served, yet recommend a deliverable that easily expands to new markets (continental U.S. only).
-Understanding of best practices for website design, UI/UX, and ecommerce for both consumer and B2B products.
- Identification of areas for improvement in the design, UI/UX, and ecommerce aspects of the current website and digital assets.
- A plan for implementing the recommended changes.
A dedicated project lead person will be available to the team for whatever cadence is needed. This would include providing industry background, geographic and market overview, branding and positioning as well as vision for all digital assets to support corporate strategy.

Four Star Mushrooms (established 2019), is a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) company growing seven types of gourmet mushrooms in a high tech facility in the heart of Chicago. Primary customers are restaurants/chefs, catering, corporate food service and secondarily are grocers and specialty retail. Consumers will be an added focus this year. The brand is highly recognized in Chicago, which should be expanded and to serve as a foundation for an eventual consumer strategy. If you've seen the hit show "The Bear", you've seen Four Star Mushrooms. The founder's vision as a CEA is to create a more sustainable food system - locally.
