database testing user interface (ui)The goal of this project is to organize the music library of the Cosmopolitan Music Society of Edmonton and create a database to store the library information. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Researching and understanding the current music library of the Cosmopolitan Music Society.
- Organizing the music library into categories and subcategories.
- Creating a database to store the library information.
- Developing a user interface to access the database.
- Testing the database and user interface to ensure accuracy.
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Understanding of the current music library of the Cosmopolitan Music Society.
- Ability to organize the music library into categories and subcategories.
- Creation of a database to store the library information.
- Development of a user interface to access the database.
- Testing of the database and user interface to ensure accuracy.
Final deliverables should include:
- All source code.
- A written report explaining the design process and outcomes.
We have a main librarian on staff who will guide the student through processes or organization. The student will be able to ask questions of two other staff who work in close proximity to students desk. The student will manage the database and physical library according to preset templates.

The Cosmopolitan Music Society of Edmonton has been helping Music Lovers become Music Makers since 1963. The Cosmopolitan Music Society (“Cosmo”) gives amateur adult musicians and singers the opportunity to learn and perform quality concert band, jazz, big band, handbell and choral music. Our beginner band program gives new players the opportunity to learn an instrument, to read music, and work towards a performance skill level that will enable them to play in one of the three concert bands. Under professional music direction, our concert bands and choirs perform at all levels of ability, from beginner to advanced; and our jazz bands at novice to intermediate (Big Band), and advanced (Jazz Orchestra). We strive to create community!
