The Starfish Canada is looking for 2 students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.

The Starfish Canada's Editorial Program is looking for students that are aiming to improve their writing skills and gain knowledge in sustainability and environmentalism. With the LevelUp Internship program, we have the opportunity to expand our variety of journals and looking for more in-depth analytical pieces to diversify our audience reach.

To accomplish this, we expect the students will:

1. Write editorial pieces based on documentaries or their own research on sustainability and environmental issues.
2. Students will submit 2 in-depth pieces (~1000 words each). We recommend participants write about documentaries that are related to environmentalism and sustainability, for example: water shortage, agriculture concerns, or sustainable technology .

We will connect the writer to an editor to help the writer with direct editing and feedback on their writing. The student will also have biweekly check-ins with the Editorial Program Manager in order for the editorial leadership team to provide feedback and support. We will provide the student with a timeline and a schedule of deadlines for the first draft, final draft, and publication date in order for a successful publication. The submitted articles will be published on our Starfish journal - https://thestarfish.ca/journal/

Our Editorial Leadership Team at The Starfish Canada is here to support the student writers from day one of this internship with anything they need. Our main form of communication is through both email and our online Slack channel, Monday through Thursday, 9am to 4pm, EST.
