Game Development Solutions - Winter 2025
COMP 390
Centennial College invites you to collaborate with our final-year, Game Development students. With hands-on experience in game programming, they are eager to apply their skills to create fully functional game or simulation apps. Through this experience, students can support with artificial intelligence, network programming, user interface design, and game testing while gaining invaluable project management and teamwork experience. As an employer, you’ll play a crucial role in guiding students by providing regular feedback, and sharing relevant resources. Your participation ensures a meaningful learning experience for our students while delivering valuable outcomes for your organization.
Collaborate with Future Mobile App Developers
MAPD 726
Learners in Centennial College's Mobile Application Development Project course focus on developing their skills in mobile app design, agile methodologies, and project management while addressing real-world challenges. They seek to enhance their abilities in teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication throughout the project. Students are required to work in teams of 4-5 to design and implement a complete mobile app (native app, hybrid app, React Native, or mobile web app) and create the artifact design by applying agile software development methodologies and project management principles. Employers are expected to provide regular communication, guidance, and essential information related to the project. They will also be invited to attend the final presentation and provide constructive feedback on the students' work via the Riipen platform.
Collaborative Aerospace Innovation with Centennial College Students
AMET 325
Centennial College's Advanced Aerospace Project course empowers learners in their final year to design and develop prototypes relevant to the aerospace industry. These students have engineering knowledge and skills in project management, teamwork, and advanced manufacturing processes. The course aims to cultivate initiative and creativity while preparing them for real-world challenges in aerospace. Through this collaboration, employers can guide and mentor future engineers while benefiting from innovative solutions tailored to industry needs. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication with learners, providing guidance and necessary project information. Additionally, employers should be available for the final presentation and offer constructive feedback to the student teams through the Riipen platform.
Collaborate on Software Development Solutions
COMP 313
Centennial College invites employers to partner with final-year Software Engineering Technology students through the Software Development Project 2 capstone course. Students will work in teams to design and implement a complete application or game and the project must make use of enterprise tools to build enterprise-level data integration. Interactive Gaming students will develop a game, and Health Informatics students will select a project that focuses on healthcare information systems. This course emphasizes skills in communication, problem-solving, project documentation, and user-focused solutions, ensuring students are well-prepared for industry challenges. Employers are expected to maintain regular communication, offer project guidance, provide relevant information, attend the final presentation virtually, and deliver constructive feedback through the Riipen platform.
AI Capstone Collaboration for Real-World Solutions
COMP 385
Centennial College’s AI Capstone Project learners collaborate to research, design, and develop AI-driven applications that solve real-world problems. They bring expertise in AI techniques and data analysis to deliver innovative and scalable applications integrated with AI capabilities. Throughout this experience, students will develop their skills in ethical AI practices, advanced programming, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Students will primarily focus on building end-to-end AI solutions and capabilities and proof of concepts. Students may have limited UX/UI, front-end/back-end development, cloud deployment, etc. capabilities. Employers engaging in this collaboration are expected to provide regular communication and guidance, share relevant project information, attend a virtual final presentation, and offer constructive feedback on the project progress and final demonstration using the Riipen platform. Employers are expected to provide data with full metadata, and clean data for the projects as much as possible.
Software and Systems Development Programs - Fall 2024
Learners in this experience are enrolled in various Software and Systems Development Programs. This experience aims to source appropriate projects for these students interested in securing experiential learning projects during their final year at Centennial College. Students are enrolled in: Software Engineering Technology Software Engineering Technician Artificial Intelligence - Software Engineering Technology Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer and Communication Networks) Computer Systems Technician - Networking Game – Programming Health Informatics Technology Students in these programs generally apply programming skills to create, maintain, test and edit website, applications, mobile apps, and databases. As students in their senior years, they have ‘full stack’ skills to support both frontend and backend development with a foundational understanding of cloud computing, APIs, and software security. Health Informatics Technology students may also have strengths in data privacy and best practices for working with sensitive data.
