This course teaches the fundamentals of digital experience design (UXD) and testing. Students will apply best practice techniques learned in the course to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing websites and apps against defined business objectives. Key topics covered include, human-centred user experience (UX) design, cross-channel UX, information architecture (IA), digital product design, and techniques for evaluating the marketing effectiveness of interactive systems.

Expected outcomes and deliverables
  • Students will conduct a detailed assessment of existing digital assets (e.g. website/app) against defined business objectives.
  • Students will provide a detailed report and oral presentation of findings and recommendations.

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions. All communications will go through the professor once per week via email.

Be available for a single session where student groups will present their findings and recommendations. Approximately 3 hours (Zoom conference call). A detailed written report will also be provided.

Be available for a short project kick-off with students (Zoom conference call with the class) to introduce the company and project goals. Approximately 30 minutes.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course. Approximately 30 minutes.
