Cosmetic Industry Field Placement Experience
FWKC 2201
This experience is designed for learners in the Cosmetic Techniques and Management program who are eager to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Participants will develop professional skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, and workplace communication, which are essential for securing and excelling in a 120-hour field placement within the cosmetics industry. By engaging in practical work, learners will enhance their understanding of industry operations and gain valuable insights into their professional strengths and areas for improvement.
Human Resources Student Placement
FWKH 6200
Field Placement is an integral part of the Durham College Human Resources - Business Administration 3 year Advanced Diploma program. During Field placement, students partner with an organization's human resources staff, completing a variety of objectives, and obtaining valuable insights into the workings of an HR department. Field placement provides students with the opportunity to put the theory they have learned in the program into practice and to develop their skills. Students are available for 208 hours of placement, Thursday and Friday of each week from approximately January 13, 2022, to April 22, 2022.
Digital Experience Design & Thinking
COMP 3201
This course teaches the fundamentals of digital experience design (UXD) and testing. Students will apply best practice techniques learned in the course to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing websites and apps against defined business objectives. Key topics covered include, human-centred user experience (UX) design, cross-channel UX, information architecture (IA), digital product design, and techniques for evaluating the marketing effectiveness of interactive systems.
Market Research for Decision Making and Strategy Formulation
PROJ 2203
Guided by your organizational objectives, a group of student-researchers will gather and analyze data in order to provide you with key insights and strategic recommendations. While doing this research work they will apply and use Project Management methodologies and tools to structure and formulate their research work and results.
