The Experience More initiative at Thompson Rivers University is seeking proposals for several 12-14 week projects from a variety of organizations that have project needs in the fields of Law, Advocacy, Policy Development. Organizations need only to present their real-world problems to solve for groups of Pre-Law Students students will select the projects to work on for the term of the experiential learning opportunity.

Bring one group of 3 pre-law students from Thompson Rivers University enrolled in the Experience More initiative to work with you in a project-based experience. Students are available for a maximum of 3 hours per week (over the duration of the course) for the project.

  • Completed data sets for unique project goals
  • Final presentations and supporting documents, manuals, etc.

Pre-Law students in TRU's Experience More initiative come from a variety of educational backgrounds and can complete a substantial project for your organization over the experiential learning period. The students are not yet in the TRU Law School, but are seeking projects that will assist them in their law school applications and future law careers

The students are from various academic programs, and are seeking projects related to the Pre-Law Club at TRU. Students can complete may include, but are not limited to:


Research and Writing

Policy review for editing and consistency

Human Rights

Advocacy planning

Not-For-Profit projects related to the overall law field

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Commit to completing a short formative (midpoint) survey and summative (final) survey for the overseeing Experiential Learning Coordiantor at Thompson Rivers University

Virtual work engagement with students and provision of all necessary materials in order to set students up for project execution success, including any relevant context, data, examples of deliverables.

Commitment to providing feedback on project milestones (Project Plan, Draft Deliverable, Final Project Deliverable) and virtual attendance at students’ final project presentation.

Provide a dedicated contact to answer occasional emails or phone calls to address significant student questions in a timely manner (a 48 hour-response time.)

Be available for a quick phone call with the Thompson Rivers University Experiential Learning Coordinator to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course and explore additional opportunities for partnership with the University.

Commit to a minimum of one hour per week, over 10-14 weeks’ worth of interactions with your assigned student team remotely. These meetings with you are likely to question/answer sessions or requests for additional information or clarification based on project content.
