We are currently working with manufactures to start production of our product. We are looking for an engineering student to help get our product ready for manufacturing.
We would like to collaborate with students to produce prototypes for new design ideas.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Familiarizing themselves with our goals, products and services.
- Conduct research on our current design, materials and manufacturing in general.
- Review and make recommendations to existing and new drawings (CAD) to optimize manufacturing.
- Solve design issues that might arise when working with manufactures.
- Communication with team members and vendors on designs, processes and contracts.
- Documenting details about design components.
Bonus steps in the process would also include:
- Developing new design ideas for future prototyping.
By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:
- Familiarity with our goals, products and services
- A great understanding of manufacturing practices
- Creation and updating of design and product/manufacturing drawings
- Documentation of design choices and component functions
- Collaboration with team members and outside firms
Bonus steps would include:
- Developing ideas for future prototyping
Final deliverables should include
- Manufacturing/product drawings that are approved by directors and solve current manufacturing issues
- Notes and documentation of processes, research and communications with team members and vendors
Students will connect directly with the directors for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide any answers, provide resources and required platforms.
