Develop an Index for Police Office Wellbeing. Majority of police officers suffer from back-pain due to the heavy weight they carry and the nature of their work in the field. Many experience insomnia and mental stress as well. Research have shown the impact of long hours, night shifts, car riding, patrol work, etc. on their body which affects their on-the-job performance and quality of life.

Such an index will be invaluable in quantifying current state and setting goals we can then influence over time.

The desired deliverables are:

• Factors that compose the index with supporting logic and data to substantiate their selection
• An approach to gather the input needed - survey questions, research, other channels
• A methodology to calculate the index score(s) based on input gathered

Research similar indexes and related indicators, such as: wellness indexes, health drivers, etc.

Adjust their generic findings to the specific realities and profile of the law enforcement industry

Do secondary and primary research - identify research papers, read reference from literature, survey police officers and agencies, talk with health professionals, etc.
