We implemented Intuit's QuickBooks Online general ledger (GL) product last year, and as a mechanical contractor (plumbing, fire protection, sheet metal, and HVAC), we have to purchase a lot of materials for projects that we bill back to clients. Unfortunately, these vendor monthly account statements come in myriad formats, and we haven't figured out a way to automate the process of importing and transforming this information...meaning that our accounts payable (AP) team has to manually enter and validate hundreds to thousands of lines of data each month! We need your help to find and implement a solution to this thorny issue!

Project activities will include:

• Researching and testing solutions to import vendor account statements into QuickBooks Online
• Recommending an optimal solution
• Implementing the solution
• If no off-the-shelf solution is available, develop a custom solution for imports every month

Final deliverables should include:

• A report recommending various ways to address this issue
• An implementation plan to fix the issue using a mutually-agreed upon solution
• A working system and process!

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be constantly available to answer questions and will meet with them weekly throughout the project.
