Resilient Hearts is a community organization that empower young adults with development disabilities by equipping them with essential skills for independent living. EmpowerED is a Resilient Hearts' initiative which will provide real-world learning experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities through an online platform. Resilient Hearts is seeking support from student talent to work on our two milestones for EmpowerED.

Deliverables

Milestone 1: Ideal Customer Discovery

Goal: Identify and understand the target customers, define their needs, and develop customer personas.

Tasks:

Conduct Market Research:

  • Identify customer segments likely to benefit from the EmpowerED project.
  • Understand key characteristics, challenges, and goals of these segments.

Engage Potential Customers:

  • Design and distribute a survey, and plan a few interviews to gather insights on customer needs and expectations.

Create Customer Personas:

  • Develop detailed profiles for each major customer segment based on research findings.
  • Share personas with the team for feedback and alignment.

Deliverable: Set of customer personas with a summary of key insights and needs.


Milestone 2: Solution Prototyping

Goal: Generate preliminary solution concepts and gather initial feedback on feasibility and appeal.

Tasks:

Brainstorm Solutions:

  • Generate two to three solution ideas that address customer needs.

Develop Basic Prototypes:

  • Create simple visual prototypes (sketches or mockups) for the top ideas.

Gather Feedback:

  • Present prototypes to select individuals from the target group, gathering feedback on initial impressions and any suggested improvements.

Deliverable: Visual prototypes and a summary of initial feedback.

Regular meetings

Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
