Resilient Hearts is a community organization that empower young adults with development disabilities by equipping them with essential skills for independent living. EmpowerED is a Resilient Hearts' initiative which will provide real-world learning experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities through an online platform. Resilient Hearts is seeking support from student talent to work on our two milestones for EmpowerED.

Developing a Hiring and Onboarding Package for Resilient Hearts

This project focuses on designing a professional Hiring and Onboarding Package tailored to Resilient Hearts, a small community service organization. The package will align with Resilient Hearts' mission and values, streamline recruitment, and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees. The student will gain hands-on experience in HR practices, aligning policies to small business needs while enhancing the new hire experience.

Development of a Health and Safety Handbook for Resilient Hearts

This project aims to develop a comprehensive Health and Safety Handbook for Resilient Hearts. The handbook will outline critical health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the well-being of employees, clients, and visitors. This project will help Resilient Hearts meet regulatory requirements, enhance workplace safety, and provide clear guidance on emergency and safety protocols.  Objectives:   Develop a Health and Safety Handbook: Create a detailed, user-friendly handbook that aligns with industry standards and governmental regulations for the health and safety of staff, clients, and visitors.  Assess and Identify Risks: Conduct a thorough risk assessment of Resilient Hearts' facilities and services to identify potential safety hazards.  Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the handbook is in compliance with relevant local, provincial, and federal laws and health and safety regulations (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, fire safety codes, emergency response requirements).  Customizable Procedures: Design procedures and protocols that reflect the unique nature of Resilient Hearts' services and the individuals they support.  Training Recommendations: Develop guidelines for staff training on health and safety, including emergency preparedness, hazard communication, and first aid.  Accessibility: Ensure that the handbook is accessible to individuals with disabilities and is easy to understand for all employees and clients. 

Cybersecurity Framework and Awareness Training for Resilient Hearts

Our goal is to develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity framework for Resilient Hearts. This will include creating policies, designing and delivering cybersecurity awareness training for staff, and providing recommendations to improve data security and enhance response to cyber threats.
