PointVerge is a company that grew out of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) world for heavy industrial projects, notably oil and gas.
Our base is in mechanical 3D design for pipelines and facilities. Our added specialty is in how we manage the materials data from design through to construction. The industry currently creates a web of disconnected spreadsheet files that get re-translated between systems many times over, and for every project. The waste of time and resources is compounded but never addressed directly. We have developed a software tool called QuBR that inserts a database into this process and centralizes data logic and distribution. This is applied with a governing set of procedures.
Though our tool has a solid back-end, it requires more UI development. It also presents as a generic data tool, suitable for anyone confronted with spreadsheet-type data that needs to be processed in a database. It is our hope to see it used for research in other fields.
